How we know this
Nothing here is estimated. Each fact traces to a record you can look up yourself.

What the record doesn’t say
- The developer is not named in the plat index. It appears in the owner's dedication on the plat itself, which we have not yet read.
- The county record carries the date each plat was recorded, not the date Farmington City approved it.
- Why Plat C and Plat K were amended. An amended plat says that it amends; it does not say what changed.
Where it is
Know something we don’t?
If you own a home in Cave Hollow and know a piece of this that the records
don’t carry — who developed it, who built your house, what was on the land
before — we would like to add it, with credit.
Words used on this page
Terms from the public record. Full definitions on the terminology page.
- Subdivision
- A tract divided into lots for sale or building.
- Plat
- The surveyed map that divides land into numbered lots and streets.
- Recorded plat
- A plat filed with the county recorder; it becomes the legal description for every lot on it.
- Plat amendment
- A later instrument that changes something on a recorded plat.
- Book and page
- Where an instrument sits in the recorder’s books — the address of the document.
- Dedication
- Land on a plat given over to public or common use — streets, walkways, open space.
- Lot vs parcel
- A lot is a numbered unit on a plat; a parcel is anything the county assesses.
